It might seem so from your point of view, but not releasing it at retailers would be an even bigger <to say it in your wordings> "F#*k you" to us, who have been purchasing all the GW releases through retailers all this time.

No it wouldn't.
Did ANet lie to you? No.
Did ANet charge you more? No.
Did you miss out on the casing for GW:EN? No.
Did you try empathising from our point of view? No.

this just another slap in the face by Anet, thanks, thanks for nothing. Anet should gives us the option to buy GW:EOTN for 10 bucks also. All of us who made online purchases sacrfiiced not having a collecters box, or a box in general. I know I like to collect them.
Forget GW2, if this is any indication of how Anet does business, you just lost a customer, and I hope I am not the only one.
I have a feeling GW2 will be an exact copt of GW in almost every aspect except you will have different races and a new story. After a couple of months the same BS will start with skill balance BS and what not crap. All because of complainers.
The only way Anet will win me back is to never balance anything again, and keep PvP and PvE seprated, also not to give in to pressure, or to offer something to loyal fans.
What Anet should have done was extend the BMP offer and made people buy an online pack, or purchase GW:EN

I was one of the people who bought GW:EN from the online store because of this promotion, and I still think this is a brilliant idea. Had I bought the game from an online shop, it would have cost me £17.99 - buying it from the online store cost me £24.99 (difference of £7). So let's see what that got me:- I got the Bonus Pack, which will be selling for £5.99, for free (so in reality I only paid £1.01 more for the game, since otherwise I would have bought the bonus mission pack)
- I got to play GW:EN as soon as I got up on the day of release, rather than hoping it would be delivered on time (which 3 out of 3 times it hadn't been for the campaigns)
- I got to play the Bonus Mission Pack on the day of release and participate in all the discussions in forums and in my guild about how great the missions are and what parts of them I'd done
- My characters have had relatively easy access to some gorgeous, max damage req9 weapons almost two months earlier than they otherwise would have
- I was able to play the fantastic Bonus Pack missions during my holiday, and before they were a completely routine part of GW like they are now (fully documented on Wiki etc.)
Are all of those benefits worth £1.01 to me? Hell yes. Well done to Arenanet for selling the Bonus Pack - locking people who are either too young to get a credit card, or live in a country where they aren't common (can't remember which one it was, but it was a European country where Guild Wars is officially sold) out of these brilliant pieces of Guild Wars nostalgia was a stupid decision in the first place.
Let me put it simply: if ArenaNet had told me at the time of the promotion that the BMP would go on sale in the circumstances that it is, I would still have done the promotion. Well done Anet!

There was no GW:EN collectors edition.

The Wintersday hats were re-offered because a screwup on ArenaNet's part meant that some servers failed to record the fact that people had received hats, and resulted in them losing their hats, bonus items and the candy cane shards they had bet in the minigame. The fact that people who hadn't been at the festival were able to get hats was a side-effect, the primary intention was to enable people who had attended the event to get the hats they would have had if ArenaNet's servers had been working properly.

Anet has done more for the player community than any other gaming company and this is how 'so called loyal players' treat them. I am totally disgusted with the lack of maturity from many of the GW community. Anet at no time ever said that the BMP will not be offered at a later date. Nor was it implied. You people had assumed that to be so. Guess what? That is your fault and not Anets. Anet has done an outstanding job to make the GW players happy as a whole. And all of this bitching and moaning is a slap in the face to the greatest bunch of people that made this wonderful game.

I am now bothered about being cheated, and lied to.
I miss out on the case AND I have been cheated.
I shouldn't be the only one to get it - same with all others who qualified but the point is now: PEOPLE LIKE ME HAVE BEEN LIED TO.
If they didn't offer it in such a stupid way, this debate wouldn't have even been started.
And maybe that's what the "sell BMP seperate" QQ'ers should have done.
Especially since the majority complained that it was extra playable content, but judging from their posts they only wanted this, as a weapons pack.
Infact - I say stop the weapons from it.

I have been playing GW since the beginning. When I heard about the type of technology that Anet was going to use for GW, I knew that this game was going to constantly evolve. I like each and every change that has been made up to this point and I know many people who do as well. It keeps the game fresh and new. Anet does not suck at maintaining this game at all. It is your own perception of the things you did not like that makes you think that. Anet has done everything to try and make the community happy as a whole and the community just spit in their faces wanting more.
One thing that people overlook. People at Anet actually play the game and do not sit on thier asses and do nothing. They try to find bots, exploits and bugs. They test out skills and builds. There is only so much they can do. They depend on the community for help in these areas. The community instead are full of selfish, ignorant and mean people who care for nothing and no one except what they want to make their character 'Better' than anyone else.
These types of people will stab their own Guildmates in the back. They cheat in AB. They abuse exploits. They verbally abuse other players. List goes on.
I am glad that the BMP will be made available for purchase for those at the time could not get it for FREE.
Keep up the great work Anet. I for one will be purchasing more games from you in the future.

you know what. i wouldn't even have 1 problem with them selling it (even though i was "cheated" out of my GW:En box) if all the QQ'ers wanted it for the story's themselves. they don't they want it for the kick ass weapon skins. how is that different from the /dancenew or the glowing hands from prophecies SE?

Yes it would, because in none of them cases would you ever be left out of content, while we would be if Arenanet doesn't make the BMP available at retailers.

It seemed they were backing out of their customer service, when they made the BMP available for only a portion of their customers. But now it seems like the trust will be restored.

I'll list some things of the top of my head for you:
Loot scaling
6 Man HA
Exploitable bugs
Sucky over-hyped expansion
Complete abadon of the current game
Sucky suppourt team
Lack of player with player gaming due to their crap decisions
Heres me wondering ' Why do less and less people play Guild Wars'

Guess you're right here buuuuut....we are still left out of physical content.

Only a portion of their customers? IT WAS AVAILABLE FOR ANYONE TO BUY ON THE ONLINE STORE. YOUR IGNORANCE DOES NOT COMPENSATE THIS ARGUMENT.
Quote:

Again: NO WE DIDN'T.
It costed more on the online store.
Therefore that extra pricing = buying BMP...cept it costed more.

Underage and parents won't do it? Cash Cards.
Last time i checked - you CAN get pre-payed cash cards aswell.
Quote:

Like when you asking on our share.
You could of gotten the BMP aswell and the only person stopping you is yourself.
Much like people who bought GW:EN online.
YOU have not been cheated out of your loyalty.

Same as no-one put the BMP out of your reach when the promotion was running. They back-stabbed customers that wanted to help them, whatever you might say. Yes, you could say we could've read "in between the lines" and used lawyers' dictionaries to transcribe their message, but I'm a soldier and I like things put to me clear and simple. Whatever, what's been done has been done and like I said before; fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
